Getting Started

This guide gets you from plugin install to your first published chart.

  • WordPress 6.8 or newer
  • PHP 7.4 or newer
  • Access to the block editor
  • A small dataset to test with, either typed manually or saved as a CSV file
  1. In WordPress admin, go to Plugins.
  2. Search for PressViz on WordPress.org and install it.
  3. Activate the plugin.
  4. Open any post or page in the block editor.

  1. Add the PressViz block.
  2. Choose how you want to start:
    • Type or paste data manually
    • Upload a CSV file
  3. Pick a chart type.
  4. Review the live preview in the editor.
  5. Adjust titles, labels, legend, colors, spacing, and other options in the sidebar.
  6. Publish or update the page.

For the smoothest first run:

  1. Start with a simple bar or line chart.
  2. Use a small CSV with clear column names.
  3. Add a chart title and short description.
  4. Turn on export buttons if readers should download the visual or data.
  5. Check the published page on desktop and mobile.
