Chart Types
PressViz currently supports 9 chart types:
- Bar
- Line
- Area
- Pie
- Doughnut
- Scatter
- Radar
- Gauge
- Funnel
Quick guidance
Section titled “Quick guidance”- Use bar charts to compare categories.
- Use line charts to show changes over time.
- Use area charts when you want trend lines with stronger visual volume.
- Use pie or doughnut only for simple part-to-whole stories.
- Use scatter charts to show relationships between numeric values.
- Use radar charts for multi-axis comparisons.
- Use gauge charts for progress against a target.
- Use funnel charts for staged conversion or drop-off views.
Picking the right first chart
Section titled “Picking the right first chart”If you are unsure, start with:
- Bar for category comparisons
- Line for time-series data
- Pie only when the number of segments is small and easy to read
